This talk will focus on testing for hyper- and hypo-adrenocorticism in dogs. Testing protocols, tubes for collection, and appropriate stimulatory agents will be reviewed. Protocols for urine sampling and when it is appropriate will be discussed. A brief overview of the disease processes will be presented at the beginning.

Learning Objectives:

The learner will be able to accurately perform the low dose dexamethasone suppression test for diagnosis of hyperadrenocorticism
The learner will be able to accurately perform the ACTH-stimulation test for the diagnosis of hyperadrenocorticism and to monitor treatment for hyperadrenocorticism
The learner will be able to advise owners how to collect and store urine for the urine cortisol:creatine ratio
