This session will provide a roadmap for assisting junior faculty as they develop their academic career. We will address several key factors such as developing a research focus, balancing clinical versus research responsibilities, mentoring house officers and interns, growing grant writing skills, among other elements associated with a faculty position.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the value of collaborative partnerships for helping junior faculty develop critical skill sets such as mentoring and grant writing.
Become familiar with the available tools and resources for junior facutly to help their growth as clinician scientists.
Understand the challenges faced by junior faculty with respect to work-life balance and methods to help them navigate balancing priorities.
