Grief Management Techniques for the Oncologist

Over the past many months of this pandemic, it’s clear that many people have become more stressed and anxious. We can identify this in ourselves as well as see it in our clients. In particular is a new kind of anxiety as we try to maintain pre-pandemic levels of functioning for our clients and their pets with fewer staff/veterinarians available to help. I'd like to suggest that we’ve all experienced loss and subsequent grief during this pandemic, though perhaps unrecognized as such. This presentation will introduce you to two different grief models that may explain our anxiety around work and perhaps the subsequent feelings unrecognized grief. Examples of support, including ways of managing stress will be presented. My hope is that the information in this session will provide you with knowledge and practical techniques that will be helpful in both your professional and personal lives.
