Small ruminant parasite resistance has become one of the most challenging aspects of large animal medicine. Resistance of intestinal parasites to all of the classes of anthelmintic approved has led to serious production, animal welfare and human welfare concerns. We will review the major parasites and current drugs available for small ruminants as well as strategies in use to limit parasitism without promoting further resistance.
