In this presentation we will discuss diagnostic and treatment utilities of rumen fluid. We will outline the importance of rumen microbiota to the global health of ruminants, and provide discussion of diagnostic modalities for assessing rumen status. In addition, we will discuss sources of transfaunate from healthy donors along with various collection methods. Finally, we will explore the utility of transfaunation in the treatment of patients with rumen dysbiosis, utilizing case examples to outline clinical applications and emphasize rumen health in the overall treatment of our ruminant patients.
