This session will provide a description of cognitive testing that can be performed in aging pet dogs, with a description of types of function that are lost over time. This will be partnered with a lecture on mobility and stability loss, and how they relate to pain, orthopedic and neurological dysfunction and to owner perceived quality of life. The final presentation will describe brain imaging in aging dogs.

Learning Objectives:

Test executive function, memory and social skills and how these change over time.
Describe how the patterns of mobility and stability change with aging.
Describe how advanced imaging techniques can be used to assess both white matter volume and connectivity.
