Systemic and Other Biomarkers of Equine Asthma

In accordance with the recommendations of the revised ACVIM Consensus Statenent on IAD, the presentation will firstly cover the relevance of potential specific biomarkers in blood/BALF (SP-D, Haptoglobin, SAA, MPO et al.) in the diagnosis of (mild) equine asthma. A focus will then be made on original "next-generation" investigations (including perspectives and current limitations), for the characterization of metabolomic profiles on respectively serum, BALF and exhaled breath condensate of asthmatic horses.
