This presentation will explore the current landscape of diabetes and approaches to self-management. Participants will develop a further understanding of the theoretical framework of habit formation, including review of current evidence and its use for individuals with type-2 diabetes. Results of a mixed methods study will demonstrate the effectiveness of occupation-based habit formation interventions to improve lifestyle and diabetes self-management behaviors as well as phenomenological experiences of participants.
