Piriformis syndrome is often misdiagnosed and undertreated by a variety of medical specialists, often because providers do not have the appropriate tools for diagnosis or treatment. The goal of this presentation is to help clinicians feel more informed and confident with the assessment and management of piriformis syndrome. We will review the clinical presentations and highlight the key symptoms of this diagnosis. Diagnostic studies and interventions will be reviewed. We will discuss non-operative treatment options, as well as surgical treatment options to ameliorate pain and restore quality of life.

Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the causes and symptoms associated with piriformis syndrome.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss initial workup for piriformis syndrome.
Upon completion, participant will be able to explain the different interventional and therapeutic techniques utilized in the management of piriformis syndrome.
