The objective of this symposium is to provide an updated scientific reporting on the current knowledge of intimate partner violence-related brain injury (IPV-BI) in women survivors. We will discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on survivors and service providers, the mental health implications of IPV-BI, neurobehavioural symptoms and the current state of neuroimaging, and functional assessment and rehabilitation. We will also discuss the current state of knowledge identifying IPV history among BI survivors.

Understand the importance of recognizing intimate partner violence-related brain injury for rehabilitation professionals.
Describe the impact of COVID-19 on survivors of intimate partner violence with brain injury and service providers.
Describe the importance of looking at both mental and cognitive health and in the context of brain injury in survivors of intimate partner violence.
