This symposium addresses the evolution of rehabilitation services in times of a global pandemic due to COVID-19. More specifically, what we have learned from the pandemic and the subsequent opportunities that arose from it. First, we describe age and sex differences in psychosocial functioning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, we present a shift towards telerehabilitation using a case in point of a virtual neurorehabilitation program for chronic TBI. Thirdly, we present opportunities to strengthen long-term care rehabilitation centers so that they can be more resilient to virus outbreaks using a case in point in Belgium. Fourth, information regarding mental health and long-haul COVID will be presented. We conclude with the long-term and neural impact of COVID-19 on cognition and mental health.

Describe sex and age differences in mental health and sleep quality during COVID-19.
Describe Home-based LED treatment for cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms in TBI and discuss the application of noninvasive neuromodulation in virtual rehabilitation.
Describe opportunities for long-term care rehabilitation centers to help prevent outbreaks of viruses including COVID-19.
Identify the various mental health symptoms of long haul COVID cases and discuss the evidence concerning the selection & implementation of various individualized interventions.
Discuss current evidence on the post-acute COVID syndrome, neurocognitive sequelae and treatment approaches
