Deeping the experiential connection between mind and body is a crucial component of a more holistic rehabilitation process.  Matthew Sanford draws upon 43 years of living with a complete spinal cord injury, 30 years of practicing yoga, and 21 years of teaching healthcare professionals to offer insights and strategies that aim to maximize long-term outcomes for both patients and caregivers.  The body is and will always be the best home the mind will every have.  This makes deepening the connection between mind and body a cornerstone for maximizing healing and recovery.

• Appraise the impact that words and stories can have a long term rehabilitative patient outcomes.
• Compare and contrast different definitions of sensation and how they might apply to rehabilitative strategies.
• Perform 3 mind-body practices that ellicit both interoceptive and proprioceptive experiences.
