I obtained a PhD degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995, and completed postdoctoral research fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis (Barnes-Jewish Hospital), and at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I have worked or have been involved in the field of physiology for over 25 years, .Specifically, I have been involved in assessing cardiopulmonary and muscle function of burned patients at the whole-body level and determining how these functions or interventions translate into an improvement in quality of life and psychosocial health.
