Kathryn Laffoon MED/RRT, VCU Medical Center:
Kathy has been a respiratory therapist for 30 years, working in most aspects of the field such as critical care both in the adult world as well as NICU and PICU, and respiratory diagnostics. Kathy began her career as a public-school teacher and following her daughter's diagnosis of Asthma as a toddler, she returned to school to pursue her degree as a respiratory therapist. Her love for teaching helped her to channel her educational background into the education of respiratory patients, families, and other healthcare workers. Kathy also serves as a BLS instructor and is certified in Pulmonary Rehabilitation from the AARC and the AACVPR.
