I am an occupational therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (SRALab) on a neurological unit in the Brain Innovation Center (23rd floor). I primarily treat patients with stroke and other non-traumatic neurological impairments including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Guillain Barre (and associated variants), and functional neurological disorder. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am the 23rd floor BRAIN Champion, where I work with a team of occupational therapists across the continuum of care provided at SRALab to develop and disseminate resources to promote evidence based practice. I am also an Allied Health Skincare Champion, collaborating with an interdisciplinary group of therapists, nurses, physicians, and orthotists to contribute towards skincare initiatives to reduce incidence and severity of pressure injuries on SRALab inpatient floors. I am also a treatment therapist and blinded evaluator for two R01 Grant studies in collaboration with SRALab and Northwestern University related to improving use of the upper extremity following stroke. Additional research includes psychometric studies with the Model of Human Occupation Lab at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
