Elizabeth Hartzog, MS, OTR/L is Director of Inpatient Therapy at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Rehabilitation Charlotte, a freestanding 70 Bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Elizabeth graduated in 2003 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She worked as an OT on the Brain Injury Team for several years, was a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, and has been in various leadership positions within the therapy department for the last 15 years. Her primary role includes leading a large department of OTs, PTs, SLPs, and Exercise Physiologists, process improvement, and program development. She is also leading the team’s transition into their new rehabilitation hospital, opening in January 2023, where inpatient and outpatient therapy departments will share the same space to make the patient transition from inpatient to outpatient seamless. Professional interests include traumatic brain injury, mentorship and retention, process redesign, and mental health awareness.
