Dr. Luis Novelo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science in the School of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He received his PhD in Statistics from Rice University. He has more than 10 years of experience in research design, data analysis, and psychometrics for large, funded research projects. Dr. Novelo has provided statistical support to researchers at TIRR Memorial Hermann and has served as the statistician on the NIDILRR-funded randomized controlled trial of the Zest Health Promotion Program for Women with SCI. His work focuses on the development of statistical methods to analyze biomedical data. His methodological work includes Bayesian non-parametric statistics, model selection, survey sampling and genetics. He has worked on the analysis of clinical trial, genetics, environmental, questionnaire, survey, longitudinal, psychological, and bioassay experiment data.
