Matheus Joner Wiest is a Physical Educator with broad experience in neuromechanics of human movement and health systems planning and evaluation. His basic research career spans from biomechanics of cycling and postural control, neuromuscular adaptations to training and ageing, and neurophysiological adaptations to transcutaneous electrical stimulation. Regarding health systems planning and evaluation, he led and collaborated local, provincial and national activities related to the development and implementation of quality of care indicators for spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Currently, he leads the development of the Ideal Pathway for Neurotrauma Care (mild to severe traumatic brain injury, and traumatic spinal injury) for the province of Ontario.
