Daniel Deutscher, PT, PhD; Is a senior research scientist at Net Health Systems, USA; and the director of the PROMs project, at the Maccabitech research institute; Maccabi Healthcare Services, Tel Aviv, Israel. Daniel Deutscher is a Physical Therapist, has earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (BPT) in 1994, his Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MSc.PT) in 2002, both at Tel-Aviv University, Israel. Daniel earned his PhD at the University of Haifa, Israel in 2011, under the supervision of Prof. Ruth Dickstein, with Prof. Susan D Horn and Dr. Dennis L Hart, serving as professional advisors. Daniel completed his Post-Doctorate at the Institute for Clinical Outcomes Research, Salt Lake City, UT, USA, hosted by Prof. Susan D Horn. Daniel’s main research interests are the foundation of clinical databases to promote Practice-Based Evidence (PBE) studies, identifying associations between patient characteristics, treatment procedures, costs and outcomes, in rehabilitation. Additionally, Daniel has been involved in numerous studies on the development and clinical implementation of PROMs. Daniel serves on the International MDT Research Foundation, and on the NQF (US national quality forum) scientific methods panel. Dr. Deutscher has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, received the first Maccabi Healthcare Services General Manager award for research in 2002, the Maccabi Healthcare Services General Manager award for research for the Physical Therapy sector in 2005, and the first D.L. Hart International Research Award in 2014.
