Erin Walaszek, PT, DPT graduated from Marquette University in 2006. Prior to holding a clinical PT manager position at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab(SRAlab) for the past 5 years, Erin spent 9 years practicing in acute care physical therapy at Chicago area hospitals including, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush Medical Center. There she found her love of patients in General Medicine, ICU, and post-operative Cardiothoracic surgery. Erin currently holds an adjunct faculty position with Northwestern University Physical Therapy program assisting in their Cardiovascular & Pulmonary courses. She also co-led a research project at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab through the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, looking at inspiratory and expiratory muscle training for persons with a spinal cord injury. One of her passions is heart failure and patients living with a Ventricular Assist Device, as well as consulting on post-Covid populations. Erin is now a project manager in research under the NIH C-STAR grant, coordinating their Collaborative Mentorship Funding through SRAlab and Northwestern University.
