Dr. Lovell received his clinical doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and is board certified in Neurologic Physical Therapy (NCS) as well as Assistive Technology (ATP). He is currently involved in multiple studies involving novel pressure sensing seating systems, movement analysis and fitness tracking in persons with neurologic compromise at Rancho Research Institute in Southern California. Dr. Lovell has published research studying the efficacy of Sensoria Smart Socks for gait rehabilitation as well as presented abstracts regarding clinical use of exoskeletons and neuroprosthesis for gait training. He served as a lead outpatient physical therapist at Casa Colina Hospital for six years with a focus on applying the latest evidence-based principles to treat neurologic conditions such as but not limited to spinal cord injury, cerebrovascular accident, traumatic brain injury and multiple sclerosis. Dr. Lovell also served as the clinical coordinator for the gait and robotics clinic at Casa Colina where he was responsible for complex gait analysis/treatment as well as clinical application for robotics technology including exoskeleton use for recovery of functional mobility and gait training.
