Research Scientist
Neurology Department, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia (PA)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
I am a physician scientist and child neuropsychiatrist with clinical and research experience in white matter disorders. My research focus is to develop and validate outcome measures to evaluate efficacy of therapeutic options for children affected by leukodystrophies. My work focuses on definition of natural disease history and clinical trial readiness for rare neurologic disorders.
Following my graduation from Medical School, I have completed a residency program in Child Neuropsychiatry (a program that combines elements of Child Neurology, Child Psychiatry, Psychology and Psychotherapy, and Developmental Pediatrics), which provided me with an in-depth knowledge of the neuro-psychomotor evolution of neurotypical and affected children. I completed a PhD program in Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Brescia
While completing my PhD, I have increased my experience on Leukodystrophy research with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and subsequently I’ve transitioned into a Research Scientist position
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
