Fotini Demetriou is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Psychology, at the University of Cyprus. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2012 and she has been working in various settings for the Mental Health Services, Ministry of Health, Cyprus for the last six years. Her working experience includes clinical assessment using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests and the application of appropriate treatment programs and interventions for issues relating to a range of mental health conditions.
She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor in Psychology from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Science Education, University of Cyprus. She received her Master's Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from Medical School, University of Athens & University of Texas Health Science Centre in Houston, Texas, the USA in 2011. At the present, her doctoral research focuses on the relationship between cognitive functions, social cognition, psychophysiology, and brain activity in moderate to severe Traumatic Brain Injury. Her research is under the supervision of Dr. Fofi Constantinidou. Throughout her studies, she has been involved in many research projects as a research assistant. Also, she has been the author of many articles published in several scientific journals.
Her awards include second place in the contest "Students in Research", organized by Research Promotion Foundation in 2007-2008, for her research study with the title "Exploring the social factors and self-regulation skills mechanisms that affect eating behavior in Cypriot adolescents".
