Diana Cherkiss graduated from the University of Central Florida cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and molecular biology. She then went on to graduate with highest honors and earn a Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Ft. Lauderdale Physician Assistant program and completed her Master’s in Public Health degree from NSU in 2017. She is currently an associate professor and the Academic Director of the Physician Assistant program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She also works part-time in family medicine as a physician assistant. Prior to her transition to academia, she worked full-time as a family medicine physician assistant specializing in integrative and regenerative health treating patients from 10 years of age and older for the duration of their lives. She serves as a member on the Diversity And Inclusion Faculty committee and the Multicultural Affairs Committee for the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences at NSU. She has presented both locally and nationally on the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion as it relates to the admissions process in PA programs and the impact on health care. She is a member of Pi Alpha and the Alpha Eta Honor Society and a reviewer for scholarly journals the Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice and the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
