Dr. Eskes is a clinical neuropsychologist and professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology & Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. Dr. Eskes is an internationally recognized clinical researcher who studies the impact of brain dysfunction on cognition and its clinical treatment and remediation. She is the developer of a suite of theory-based and validated software tools for computerized assessment and attention training that can be used remotely over the internet. These tools have received international recognition and are currently adopted by a variety of clinical research groups to study stroke, multiple sclerosis, lupus, post-operative cognitive decline and aging. Dr. Eskes’ expertise in stroke and cognition is evidenced by her work over 3 decades with the Heart & Stroke Foundation, sitting on Mission Advisory and Critical Area Councils, Best Practices working groups and HSF grant review bodies. Dr. Eskes’ research has been supported by CIHR, NSERC, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Innovacorp.
