Jan McElroy, PT, PhD, PCS graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Physical Therapy, from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) with a MS in Physical Therapy, and in 2011 with a PhD from RMUoHP. She draws from over 40 years of pediatric experience with the 0-3 yr population in a wide range of settings including NICU, acute care, early intervention programs, outpatient, and in-patient rehabilitation. Jan owns a private pediatric PT clinic in Columbia, Missouri serving primarily the birth to three population. Jan’s teaching experience includes clinical, classroom, and continuing education settings. She served for 20 years as the physical therapy faculty on the maternal child-health LEND grant at the University of Missouri. She is currently adjunct faculty in the transitional DPT program at RMUoHP and serves as the pediatric representative on the RMUoHP PhD Advisory Council. Jan’s national continuing education short courses focus on baby treatment, treatment of infants born preterm, pediatric gait, and treating young children with cerebral palsy. Currently, Jan serves on the APTA Pediatrics Board of Directors as Director of Practice. Additionally, she serves on the National Panel for Developmental Care establishing guidelines for care in the NICU.
