Dr. Alice Kam is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist. Her clinical focus is neurorehabilitation. She currently practices at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also has a special interest in medical education, program planning and development. She completed her MD at the University of Manitoba and her residency at the University of Toronto. She earned a Master of Science in Community Health, Health Practitioner Teacher Education at the University of Toronto (U of T), following her Master Teacher Certificate at U of T. She also completed Vernissage Health- A Health Leaders Dialogue Series, Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), U of T. She is actively involved in medical education and clinical research.
Dr. Kam enjoys medical education as her passion, particularly in the area of post-graduate medical education. To deepen her understanding of curriculum development, she initially completed a physiatry residents’ perception study on blended learning. She received the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CAPMR) first place education abstract award in 2020. Following her blended learning research study, she is currently doing a research study among family medicine residents on an innovative curriculum focusing on competency acquisition. This initiative has obtained the University of Toronto Student Leadership Award.
