Emily Dickey serves as Sheltering Arms Institute’s Upper Extremity Recovery Specialist and graduated with her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 2013. Since then, she has provided both inpatient and outpatient therapy to a variety of populations with special interest in the use of technology to support upper extremity rehabilitation following neurologic injuries. Her current research pursuits include the innovative use of technology to support intensity in upper extremity rehabilitation and the reinvention of the inpatient rehabilitation experience to integrate current evidence such as electrical stimulation of the neurologically subluxated shoulder.
