This session will highlight how the principles of person-centered measurement (PCM); which include ( 1) comprehensible and timely, (2) transparent, (3) patient-driven, (4) co-created, and (5) holistic, (American Institutes for Research, 2017) intersect with measurement-related topics. Although person-centered care is becoming more widely accepted, integrating person-centered principles into measurement has been overlooked. Our symposium will present three exemplar projects to articulate how these PCM principles can be addressed. Exemplar 1 addresses the Coach’s perspective on desired training content for removal of youth athletes from play for suspected concussion. Exemplar 2 describes the co-creation of a recovery ruler with input from practitioners and care partners of individuals with disorders of consciousness. Exemplar 3 demonstrates stakeholder engagement in the development of infographics to enhance patient and care partner understanding of standardized assessments. We conclude with a panel discussion on the integration of PCM principles in these studies.
