Traumatic Brain Injury is one of the most common causes of death and disability in Spanish-speaking individuals worldwide. This, combined with the fact that the population of Spanish-speaking individuals is growing both inside and outside the US, projected to reach 111 million by 2060 (U.S. Census Bureau, 2017), has created needs and challenges in providing culturally appropriate rehabilitation services to these individuals. In this symposium we will 1) examine how cultural issues can influences outcomes in Hispanics with TBI, 2) present data on outcome disparities research studies in this area, and 3) offer recommendations on how rehabilitation professionals can provide culturally sensitive evaluations and treatment programs to this population
