The goal of this symposia is to provide one facilities experience using combined music and art to improve engagement, offer a non-discursive means of communication and show the value of arts-based interventions in rehabilitation. The experience of team members as they have initiated arts-based interventions will be explored along with preliminary results of Level of Effort ratings comparing traditional rehabilitation sessions with sessions involving arts-based interventions.

Learning Objectives:

1. Summarize engagement and level of effort.
2. Identify ways music and art can combine in the rehabilitation setting for brain injury
3. Discuss findings associated with level of effort ratings comparing traditional rehabilitation sessions with arts-based sessions.
