Despite estimates of the high prevalence of brain injury in the IPV population, there has been very little research and training dedicated to brain injury in the IPV context. The Chautauqua Symposium offers an opportunity to learn more about this area and participate in discussions with international experts in the field of IPV and brain injury. This symposium will provide an overview of what is currently known about IPV and brain injury, and will be a forum to discuss the controversies surrounding these areas and knowledge gaps in the research in this area..

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn key insights from recent IPV-related brain injury research
Participants will describe the unique clinical, legal and ethical issues of IPV and brain injury
Participants will learn about IPV-related resources on BI that are available to researchers/clinicians/survivors.
Participants will learn about initiatives internationally to address IPV and BI
