Helping your organization respond to racism

The symposium will review an evidence-supported process based on the Mayo Clinic SAFER model and provide tools for responding to identity related aggressions, supporting team members and helping to turn by-standers into upstanders. The SAFER process has been found to help to protect work-force safety and dignity while expertly evaluating customer issues and care needs from a trauma-informed perspective. The speakers will discuss the work that has been taking place in their home institution to implement this process at a network level. Participants will have an opportunity to apply these tools through an interactive activity using relatable incidents.
