Prediction of upper limb recovery is of interest to both clinicians and researchers. MEP status is the most reliable biomarker for prediction of recovery in post-stroke individuals. We will discuss the PREP algorithm as well as other possible biomarkers for individuals with stroke as well as those with spinal cord injury.

define and describe the PREP algorithm and state how it can be used in neurorehabilitation.
compare and contrast the benefits and limitations of using MEP status to determine connectivity.
state and reflect on alternative techniques to probe functional connectivity in individuals with neurological injuries.
