Chronic pain, including headache, is a frequent problem after TBI. However, little is known about the experience of pain including characterization, location, and impact of pain as well as how pain may impact function and other comorbid conditions. In addition, treatment of chronic pain after TBI is varied and information from both patients and providers can help identify beneficial treatments as well as highlight barriers and facilitators to accessing treatment. Findings from the TBI Model System Collaborative study, which included TBIMS participant data from 18 centers and qualitative and survey data from healthcare providers will be presented to provide new insights on chronic pain after TBI.
