We will discuss whether there is substantive rigorous evidence to include Consistent Command Following as criteria for emerged from minimally conscious state (eMCS). Two studies using retrospective Coma Recovery Scale-Revised data have shown that Consistent Movement to Command has a temporal relationship with Functional Object Use and Functional Communication and that it has an item difficulty located in between the two behaviors that current reflect eMCS.

Discuss the application of the Aspen Criteria to the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised.
Analyze whether Consistent Command Following should reflect criteria for emerged from minimally conscious state.
Compare and contrast various methods for identifying whether behaviors reflect a similar challenge for patients with disorders of consciousness.
