Adrianne Smiley, EdD, OTD, OTR/L is a home health and nursing home occupational therapist in the metro area of Atlanta, Georgia. Adrianne has been active in the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) since 2013 and has served widely on many national committees. Adrianne served as chairperson for AOTA's first-ever Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion taskforce and led the development and implementation of the official organizational Strategic Plan and longstanding diversity committee. Adrianne has conducted social sciences research on pedagogical practices in higher education. Adrianne will continue her studies as a combined Juris Doctor and Philosophy Doctorate Student, studying neuroscience, next fall.
