Luca D’Ambrosio:
An athlete since the age of seven, he has always been interested in understanding more about the technologies and the evolution of sports materials, the biomechanics and the physics linked to human movement when practicing sports. Meanwhile, he got interested in disabilities and on how to make sports accessible to everyone, thus improving their quality of life.
These reasons led him to enroll in the B.Sc and M.Sc in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, to deal closely with the biomechanics and disability themes. He strengthened his passions during the Master Thesis at TUM (Technische Universität München) studying “Kinematic and dynamic evaluation during landing phase in ski jumping” and conducting performance and functional assessments of Olympic sports national athletes during the 2nd Level Specializing Master’s programme in Sports Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and Istituto di Scienza e dello Sport (CONI). In 2018, he also achieved the State Examination for Engineering habilitation for Industrial Sector at Politecnico di Torino.
Since 2020, he has been working in Tecnobody S.r.l. R&D department as a biomedical engineer and data analyst, focusing on the study of human biomechanics and motion analysis through 3D cameras, load cells and inertial sensors.
