I am a Professor of Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics University of Minnesota. I practice at Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children’s Minnesota, Minneapolis Minnesota. Several areas have been my focus over the years. One area of focus has been identifying the pathogenesis of several genetic disorders with the goal of developing therapy for them. Another area of research has been therapy of childhood leukemia and lymphoma. A third area of focus has been rare tumors but specifically the DICER1 syndrome and associated pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB). Until June 30/2021 I was the Medical Director of our Pediatric Hematology Oncology Department at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota (Children’s Minnesota). I am now back on full clinical duty but continue to participate in active research in those 3 areas.
