Dr Steven Kirshblum is Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the Chief Medical Officer for Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation (KIR) and Kessler Foundation (KF). He also serves as the Director of Spinal Cord Program for KIR, the co-director of the Northern NJ Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems and co-director for the Center for Spinal Stimulation at KF. He has served in many leadership roles for numerous national organizations including past president of Academy of Spinal Cord Professionals (ASCIP), American Paraplegia Society, Chair of the International Standards Committee for ASIA, as well as a current ASIA Board member. He has been the recipient of numerous clinical and research awards.
