Prabhakar is currently an Associate Professor with the Neurology Department, CMC Vellore. He received D.M in Neurology from CMC Vellore and M.A in Philosophy from Indra Gandhi Open University, Delhi. He has research experience in Electrophysiological studies in GBS, the Role of EMG in radiculopathies, Neurological manifestations of scrub typhus, Electrical source imaging, and jerk locked EEG in patients with NMDA receptor encephalitis. His research interests include Neural correlates of Consciousness, Dural venous sinus thrombosis, and the Effects of mindfulness meditation on emotional regulation.
