Rachel Ramirez is the Director of Health and Disability Programs at The Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN), and the Founder of The Center on Partner-Inflicted Brain Injury. In this role, she oversees several federally funded and statewide initiatives on the intersection of domestic violence, disability, and health access, with a focus on behavioral health and brain injury. She also provides extensive statewide, national and international training, consultation, technical assistance and program support on brain injury caused by domestic violence. Over the past 15 years at ODVN, Rachel has led multiple statewide initiatives and trained hundreds of audiences. She co-authored Trauma-Informed Approaches: Promising Practices and Protocols for Ohio’s Domestic Violence Programs, ODVN’s evidence-based CARE brain injury tools, and several peer-reviewed journal articles.
Her focus is on equipping professionals who work with domestic violence survivors to better understand traumatic stress and the impact of brain injury. This leads to more accessible and effective empowerment-based and survivor-centered services. She is a licensed independent social worker and a registered advocate with advanced status in Ohio.
