Hao-Ping is a PhD researcher in the Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices module of the Future Health Technologies (FHT) programme at the Singapore-ETH Centre since May 2021.
Prior to joining the FHT, he was involved in projects related to physiological data analysis in overtraining syndrome and hypoglycemia in individuals with type 2 diabetes. More specifically, in his master thesis, he applied deep learning approaches to tackle the missing RR-intervals in heart rate recordings in order to improve the prediction performance for hypoglycemic events. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan in 2018, and his Master’s in Sport and Exercise Science from the Technical University of Munich, Germany in 2021.
He is passionate about integrating artificial intelligence with healthcare studies. Currently, he is working on the human-computer interface with the help of deep learning approaches, aiming to extract any meaningful features from electromyography (EMG) with the aim of improving user-centric rehabilitation devices.
