Sylvia is an Occupational Therapist who has worked 27 years in clinical settings from acute to community care and private practice. Areas of specialty include research, program planning, evaluation and evidence based practice. Along with a background in psychiatry and psychology, she is invested in inter-collaborative practice to improve clinical practice, leverage virtual digital technology to improve patient reach, experience and care, and integrating clinical quality improvement into practice to generate new ways of bringing efficiencies into health system operations. Passionate about innovation and implementation science, her ability to work within Alberta health services under the allied health portfolio is where her advocacy skills are utilized to find novel and strategic ways to enable allied health clinicians to work to their full potential, how to advance their skillsets within the broader health system, and lead the way in strategically meeting the healthcare needs of Albertans.
