Steven (Zach) Wirt, MS, OTR/L, c/NDT, CHFP: Zach Wirt is an occupational therapist that practices at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) in Houston, Texas. He received his Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois in 2011 and worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for one year before transitioning into pediatrics and eventually to Texas Children’s Hospital in 2013. He completed his Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) certification in the Management of Adults with Stroke and Brain Injury in 2016. Currently, he is the therapy manager for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at TCH, which is the only pediatric inpatient rehabilitation unit that has is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in acute, pediatric, inpatient rehabilitation in south Texas. He serves as the co-leader of the IRU Quality Team, Lean Belt certified, and is pursuing his greenbelt certification. His research interests include acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and cancer rehabilitation.
