Raine Osborne, PT, DPT, EdD, FAAOMPT is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of North Florida, a member of the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning Residency and Fellowship Program faculty, and a Research Scientist at the Brooks Rehabilitation Clinical Research Center. Dr. Osborne has practiced as a physical therapist for over 16 years, specializing in orthopaedics with a particular interest in spine and chronic pain. He has also been a physical therapist educator for over 10 years, providing instruction and mentorship across the physical therapist education continuum (DPT, residency, and fellowship). As a researcher, Dr. Osborneās primary interest is in understanding the mix of personal characteristics and environmental factors that drive innovation and excellence in rehabilitation practice. Areas of focus within this research agenda include professional engagement, physical therapist residency and fellowship education, teaching and assessment of clinical reasoning, and interprofessional education. Dr. Osborne also maintains an active professional service agenda, serving in leadership roles with a variety of state and national organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association, the Florida Physical Therapy Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, and the Academy of Physical Therapy Education.
