Simon Fuk-Tan Tang, MD, is program director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. For 10 years, he had been the chairman of the department, and a full-time professor at Chang Gung University.
A graduate of the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Tang completed his postdoctoral fellowship in restorative neurology and human neurobiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Tang has written more than 140 published papers. His research interests are orthoses, gait analysis, motor control, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Tang is a board member of the executive committee of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine; vice president of the International Society for Restorative Neurology; president of the Taiwan Prosthetic and Orthotic Society; president of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics, Chinese Taipei; honorary president of the Taiwan Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; and immediate past president of the Asia-Oceanian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
