B.S. and PhD degrees from the University of California at Irvine. Postdoctoral training at the Max Planck Institut fur Experimentelle Medizin, Goettingen, Germany and the University of Wisconsin. Assistant, Associate and Full Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Department Chair for 17 years. Moved to the University of Florida in 2015, and created the Breathing Research and Therapeutics Center. Currently funded by 3 NIH R01 grants, over 300 peer reviewed publications, H index = 75.
