I am a physical therapist and clinician-scientist with a portfolio of research that focuses on empowering people to lead safe and physically active lifestyles through the development and implementation of innovative, evidence-based clinical care models and health system delivery processes. I apply this research focus to a variety of patient populations and clinical and community settings, including individuals with a history of traumatic brain injury. A unique and central emphasis of my work in is the use of complexity/systems science, implementation science, and quality improvement theories and methodologies to advance science and practice. I am diversely trained in the philosophies and methods for a variety of inquiry paradigms ranging from qualitative/naturalistic studies, to more classical experimental and quasi-experimental research designs, to complexity/system science approaches. I seek to lead and participate on projects that can have translational and transformative impact on the health care system and patient outcomes. The proposed work represents a complementary and innovative mixing of our team members’ collective clinical and research expertise to pursue this innovative project. Below are several recent publications showcasing my prior work related to the content and methodological expertise for this submission.
