Dr. Louras is a clinical research Psychologist studying brain-body connections in human health and performance. His goal is to understand individual differences regarding resiliency and rehabilitation, by investigating the pathways and mechanistic drivers that shape biological, physiological and clinical presentations. In this way, he uses patient data and computational strategies to dissect complex medical and mental health problems, to discover critical insights for risk classification and personalized care. Dr. Louras has a background in biomedical and clinical research, having involvement in studies at the Veteran Affairs, Stanford University, and Level-1 trauma center affiliated with the University of Washington. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow with the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System and Stanford University School of Medicine, where he investigates the systemic influences and health characteristics of older Veterans experiencing cognitive impairment. His goal is to use these research findings to inform future RCTs and individualized treatment approaches, specifically targeting modifiable risk factors through exercise, lifestyle change, and biofeedback.
